Black Pussy is on a mission to get the earth’s population stoned on Rock & Roll. This, their first album, was recorded by Adam Pike (Red Fang, Black Elk, Icarus Line) in Portland, Oregon. The album is a romp through a cotton candy field of “stoner pop.” It’s a trip back in time to the free-love idealism embraced by individuals not contented by being slaves. There’s bottle breaking, burn outs & bong rips. But there’s also hang ups, heartbreaks & hangovers. The Mach One is leaving and everybody is welcome on this trip.
"Black Pussy's sound, in other words, fits in with an afternoon orgy of Ramones, the Runaways, the Stooges and maybe even a little Kiss. It's simple, it's tight and it doesn't give an F-bomb."
-Marc Phillips , The Vinyl Anachronist
"I don't know if it 's the unabashedly hedonistic combo of hard rock and pop, the nostalgically delicious pop-art album cover or just that I love this band's name; but taken altogether this 70's-lovin' kitten is smitten."
- My Old Kentucky Blog
"Right from the outset you get of some sense of what's in store from Black Pussy with the psychedelic cover art and the boss car graphic. Think Fireball Ministry, as opposed to the aforementioned Monster Magnet, or maybe, if you're feeling retro, more Grand Funk Railroad than Deep Purple, but a lot of fun nonetheless. And you gotta love their name. Sooner or later somebody had to do it."
